NSPCC Number Day
On Friday 6th February we took part in NSPCC number day.
Children came to school dressed either as a TT Rockstar or their favourite number. Staff joined in too.
Reception had a fantastic time exploring 2D shapes and making repeating patterns. Year 1 made their very own shape pictures. This activity allowed children to explore the properties of 2D shapes, counting the sides and corners. Year 4 used their mathematical skills to solve a numbers of mathematical riddles and puzzles. Year 5, created 'Number of the Day' posters, focusing on different ways represent a given number. Year 6 based their learning off a maths story called '365 Penguins'. Using the number 365, they looked at percentages, fractions and place value. They also calculated area and perimeter of penguin enclosures as well as solving penguin themed multi-step problems!
Everyone had a fabulous day promoting a positive maths culture across school. We raised £145.60 for NSPCC, well done everyone.
